As part of the project a demonstration processing unit was realized in Tokar Town with the capacity to sort, clean and pack large quantities of high quality tomatoes and other vegetables. Several containers a day could be despatched to Saudi Arabia where the market prices for fresh vegetables are much higher than in Sudan. Tomatos that are not of good enough quality will be processed to make paste, puree and sauce for the local market.
